haven't blogged in a little bit. So i was viewing another blog earlier today and I read a tweet from Terrance J (106& Park host) and he talked about following your dreams.
He tweeted:
Today is a new day. A new opportunity to follow your dreams. Take advantage of this blessing. Take that leap. Whatever your dream is, you have to step towards it. The more steps you take the more the universe will conspire to assist you…
If you want to run a label, quit your job at the bank & intern at a label. If you want to be a doctor, apply to school today, etc. I wanted to act, so every week I go to acting school for 14 hours, study film & actors, read about projects, etc. Once I took steps, roles came.
A girl replied, how can I pay my bills if I quit my job to follow
my dreams
? – when following your dreams you will be temporarily inconvenienced. Tyler Perry was HOMELESS years before becoming a MILLIONAIRE. Only you can determine the amount of sacrifice your dreams are worth.
Before 106 I had a job making 30k but I wasnt happy. I quit. Moved to NY, worked small jobs to get by, & lived on @FredWhit FLOOR 8 MONTHS! I just meet so many people that want to reach their goals & then complain when it sounds hard! Go watch Pursuit of Happiness
Everybody has a different story. U may have kids, mortgage, bills, etc. But God is powerful. There is always a way to follow your dreams!
Reading this really made me think about my life. I'm 22 and just graduated from college. There are so many things that I want to do. But I think i'm scared to really go out there and go after my dreams. or maybe I'm really not scared. I think it might be more so LAZYINESS!!! It's like what is going to motivate me to really do what I want to do? I may even have the resources to get out there but I just don't want to be told NO.
I always told myself that I never want to be that person ten or fifteen years from now saying shoulda, coulda, woulda...because by that time, it will probably be too late to do much of anything because I will be older and hopefully, by then, settled down. So now is the time to make my dream a reality and stop thinking of things that I could do and just do it. Fear never gets anybody anywhere! Every major businesswoman and businessman didnt become millionaires because they were scared. They are where they are today because they put their fears behind them and did what they had to do in order to get what they wanted. As I have already metioned before, I love love love fashion and the entertainment business. and that's where I want to be. Don't exactly know where I fit in quite yet, but i'll find a way to wiggle in there! I want to be a major business mogul that will build an empire from the ground up and be remembered not for what i look like or what i wear to this event or that party, but to be remembered because i was one of the greatest, if not the greatest at what i did!! A businesswoman with a mission to influence a generation of children and even show the older generation a thing or two. I want to leave a legacy!
Evaluation
Am I sleeping during harvest? (What needs to be done right now which I am procrastinating on?)
Am I gathering in the summer? (What needs to be done some time in the future and am I preparing to get that work done now beforehand?)
Are there aspects of my life which are a mess because I've been to lazy to work on them?
Am I taking initiative to accomplish my responsibilities in life or am I waiting for someone to tell me what to do?
Do I carefully consider all sides of an argument, which can be alot of work, or do I take the easy way out and just presume I'm always right?
Are my unfulfilled desires a result of my laziness?
Do I take things and people too much for granted? And how can I learn to appreciate them more?
What fears are preventing me from carrying out my responsibilities and meeting people's needs

Proverbs tells us the end in store for the lazy:
-A lazy person becomes a servant (or debtor): “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor” (12:24);
-His future is bleak: “A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing” (20:4);
-He may come to poverty: “The soul of the lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich” (13:4 KJV).
